Joe Pyfer vs Marc-Andre Barriault
Pyfer may have lost last time out but he proved his level by being competitive throughout his five-round fight with Jack Hermansson. The 27-year-old clearly impressed the oddsmakers with his performance as he’s a -275 favorite over Barriault, who is a +225 underdog.
Barriault has been decent throughout his career but every time he’s moved towards the upper echelons he’s come up short. Pyfer will prove he’s a top guy by beating the Canadian, but it will be the manner he gets the win that tells fans how far the American can go at 185lbs.
Cub Swanson vs Andre Fili
This could be the final fight of Swanson’s legendary MMA career. The 40-year-old is a +170 underdog despite winning four of his last six fights – but we think -200 favorite Fili will have the edge in this one. Still in his prime at 33 years old, ‘Touchy’ is slick on the feet and will be able to push a pace that will ultimately see him get his hand raised at UFC 303.
Fili won’t have it all his own way, and he will most likely need some help from the judges, but he’ll get the win and probably retire Swanson.
Payton Talbott vs Yanis Ghemmouri
Talbott is one of the biggest favorites in UFC history at -1400. The 25-year-old has looked sensational during his first couple of fights with MMA’s premier promotion, but we feel like the bookmakers are getting carried away. Ghemmouri’s debut didn’t go to plan and he’ll be looking to make a much better second impression as a +800 underdog.
Unfortunately for the Frenchman, he’s coming up against a future star who we think will pick him apart for three rounds and win by decision. We’ll be betting on that to get better odds.
Michelle Waterson vs Gillian Robertson
Waterson is in a very similar position to Swanson, although her retirement seems almost certain if she suffers a fifth consecutive loss at UFC 303. A slight +150 underdog, she can certainly get the job done. However, Robertson has all the potential in the world and it seems like a matter of time before she makes a title run.
The -175 favorite is a submission wizard and she’s slowly adding striking to her game, which resulted in her first UFC TKO finish last time out. Robertson will dominate from the start and win this fight on the floor at the T Mobile Arena in Las Vegas, whether she finds the finish or needs the judges remains to be seen.
Andrei Arlovski vs Martin Buday
Arlovkski is 45 years old and on a three-fight losing streak. You’d guess we are backing against him at UFC 303 – but you’d be sorely mistaken. Odds of +225 are simply too good to pass up on ‘The Pitbull’, who has proven time and again that if you are not an elite heavyweight, you will not beat him.
Buday is the -275 favorite but we haven’t been overly impressed with him. Arlovski can get the job done. It won’t be pretty and will probably be a boring point fight, but he will get his hand raised against Buday this weekend.
