Finally!
Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) today announced reigning welterweight champion Leon Edwards will defend his title opposite No. 2-ranked title contender Belal Muhammad in the upcoming UFC 304 pay-per-view (PPV) main event, scheduled for Sat., July 27, 2024 at Co-op Live in Manchester, England.
Edwards (22-3, 1 NC) battled Muhammad to a “No Contest” back in early 2021, a fight that ended prematurely due to an accidental eye poke. In the three years since their first meeting, Edwards has won four straight, capturing the division title along the way. As for Muhammad (23-3, 1 NC) he’s a perfect 5-0 since their first encounter, having recently disposed of Gilbert Burns at UFC 288.
That’s not all.
Current UFC interim heavyweight champion Tom Aspinall will put his substitute strap on the line in a heavyweight rematch against No. 4-ranked title contender Curtis Blaydes. Aspinall lost to “Razor” at UFC London back in summer 2022 after blowing out his knee, which cost the hulking Brit a year on the sidelines.
UFC CEO Dana White confirmed the bookings on social media.
