In the main event of UFC Argentina, Santiago Ponzinibbio cruised past Neil Magny and picked up a fourth round stoppage in front of his home crowd.

In the main event of UFC Argentina, Santiago Ponzinibbio dominated Neil Magny with devastating leg kicks, and eventually knocked him out in the fourth round.

What was the high point of the fight?

Ponzinibbio found success early in backing Magny up against the fence, and a jab from the Argentine seemed to cause trouble to Magny’s right eye early in the fight. In the second round, Ponzinibbio dropped Magny twice with hard leg kicks, and the fight was briefly stopped for a nasty headbutt-induced cut on the eyelid of ‘Gente Boa.’

Leg kicks continued to trouble Magny into the deep rounds, and it looked like referee Herb Dean was close to stopping the fight as Magny struggled to stand back up at times. In the fourth round, a right hand from Ponzinibbio sent Magny face first down to the canvas, and Dean rightfully stopped the fight.

Where do these two go from here?

Coming into UFC Argentina, Magny was on his best UFC winning streak since 2015/16, so the loss against Ponzinibbio is a disappointing setback for the 31-year-old. With a few fighters in the lower tier of welterweight already having fights booked, a matchup with Leon Edwards should be made next for Magny.

It was a great win for Ponzinibbio, who extending his unbeaten streak to seven in the UFC with the win over Magny. The Argentina will definitely be bumped up the 170-pound rankings with this win, so a fight against former title challenger Stephen Thompson seems a reasonable one to make for Ponzinibbio.
