Get a detailed breakdown of the betting lines for UFC Fight Night 133, which is set to hit CenturyLink Arena in Boise, Idaho, this weekend (Sat., July 14, 2018), including best bets, underdogs, favorites and much more!
Blagoy Ivanov has defeated Fedor Emelianenko in Sambo, survived a stabbing, won a World Series of Fighting (WSOF) championship, and now he’s going to face the most decorated Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) Heavyweight knockout artist, Junior dos Santos, this Saturday night (July 14, 2018). Ivanov and dos Santos headline UFC Fight Night 133 in Boise, Idaho, leading a FOX Sports 1-televised main card that includes Sage Northcutt, the return of Chad Mendes, and what should be a bonkers slugfest between Dennis Bermudez and Rick Glenn.
If UFC 226 and its ridiculous number of underdog victories cleared you out, here’s how to get back on track.
What Went Wrong at the TUF 27 Finale and UFC 226?
Ain’t it grand when one of your key bets gets a concussion and another one misses weight? My only solace is knowing that many other people probably had weekends just as bad as mine. At UFC 226 alone, the underdog won in eight out of the 11 fights. We’re deep in the red, but we’re pulling ourselves out this weekend.
UFC Fight Night 133 Odds For The Undercard:
Alejandro Perez (-210) vs. Eddie Wineland (+175)
Alexander Volkanovski (-355) vs. Darren Elkins (+175)
Said Nurmagomedov (-165) vs. Justin Scoggins (+145)
Kurt Holobaugh (-200) vs. Raoni Barcelos (+170)
Liz Carmouche (-120) vs. Jennifer Maia (EVEN)
Elias Garcia (-135) vs. Mark De La Rosa (+115)
Jodie Esquibel (-130) vs. Jessica Aguilar (+110)
Thoughts: Raoni Barcelos, Jessica Aguilar and Alexander Volkanovski. Trust me.
Barcelos is a genuine stud, an RFA champion with quality counter-punching, a strong freestyle wrestling pedigree, and a legit Brazilian jiu-jitsu black belt. I do have some concern about his a long layoff, but the sheer variety in his game and the stylistic match up against the hard-charging Holobaugh makes me quite confident in his victory regardless.
I’m copy-pasting my justification for Aguilar that I posted last time these two were supposed to fight:
Disappointed as I was in Aguilar’s performance against Cortney Casey, the fact remains that she owned the women’s Strawweight division before the weight class showed up in UFC. There’s also the fact that she’s up against a long-time Atomweight who could easily have a losing record if any two of her three split decision wins went the other way. If Ashley Yoder can beat Esquibel, Aguilar can do it easily.
As far as Volkanovski, he has every conceivable advantage over Elkins besides height. He has to smash “The Damage” for me to have any faith left in my ability to analyze this stupid sport.
UFC Fight Night 133 Odds For The Main Card:
Junior dos Santos (-185) vs. Blagoy Ivanov (+160)
Sage Northcutt (-130) vs. Zak Ottow (+110)
Dennis Bermudez (-245) vs. Rick Glenn (+205)
Randy Brown (-125) vs. Niko Price (+105)
Chad Mendes (-225) vs. Myles Jury (+185)
Marion Reneau (-120) vs. Cat Zingano (EVEN)
Thoughts: The main card is comparatively light on bargains. I do think a bit on Niko Price is warranted, though. While Randy Brown has shown steady improvement during his UFC tenure, it’s worth noting that just one of the people he’s beaten, Mickey Gall, is still part of the organization. His wrestling remains a significant Achilles’ heel, a flaw Price proved willing to exploit against George Sullivan last time out, and Price also packs more stopping power on the feet. “The Hybrid” is a quality underdog play.
UFC Fight Night 133 Best Bets:
- Single bet — Raoni Barcelos: Bet $50 to make $85
- Parlay — Alexander Volkanovski and Jessica Aguilar: Bet $50 to make $84.50
- Single bet — Niko Price: Bet $40 to make $42
UFC Fight Night 133 is a quality free card with real highlight-reel potential, which is good enough for me. See you Saturday, Maniacs!
