The TD Garden will be the scene for today’s UFC Boston event, and Bloody Elbow is back to provide the betting lines!
Former UFC middleweight champion Chris Weidman will be making a move up to light heavyweight to take on the #4 ranked Dominick Reyes in the event’s featured fight. Despite giving up the edge in experience, the undefeated Reyes is the betting favorite here. Him and his 11-0 record are available at a cost of -160. As for Weidman, the seasoned veteran is holding at an underdog value of +150.
The over/under for this Bostonian main event has been set at 1.5 rounds. The bookies believe that this bout will last longer than 7.5 minutes. The ‘over’ owns a favored line with a minus mark of 182, with the ‘under’ left underdogging at +167. The bet-setters surely don’t envision these two athletes making it to the final bell. The proposition ‘Fight doesn’t go to decision’ is heavily favored, clocking in at a whopping tick of -400. Going back the other way, gamblers can take the price on ’Fight goes to decision’ for a chunky dog tag of +310.
The surging Reyes is the fighter that has been pegged to finish the fight. ‘Reyes wins inside distance’ holds a favored moneyline of -125, with ‘Not Reyes inside distance’ trending at -105. The ‘Weidman inside distance’ is valued at a stout plus mark of 255, with a -335 comeback on ‘Not Weidman inside distance.’ Taking things one step further, the oddsmakers are predicting Reyes to score a knockout. ‘Reyes wins by TKO/KO’ can be acquired at -145, with ‘Any other result’ resting at a slight plus point of 105.
For anyone plotting on the UFC’s former middleweight king to end this one with strikes, ‘Weidman wins by TKO/KO’ is offered up at a puffy play of +550, with ‘Any other result’ popping off at pricey point of -1050.
The UFC Boston co-main event will see a rematch of the unfortunate UFC Mexico main event, that resulted in an eye poke before it even got started. The promotion’s #7 ranked 145-pounder Yair Rodriguez and the #8 Jeremy Stephens have unfinished business. At the time of their initial encounter, Stephens was the betting favorite, locked in at -110. Rodriguez was available at a slight underdog option at +100. This time around, Rodriguez is the one rocking a standalone favored flavor, rogering up at about -115. As for Stephens, he now belongs to both sides of the betting lines, ranging anywhere from -115 up to +105.
