The co-main event for the UFC Boston event just witnessed the promotion’s #7 ranked featherweight, Yair Rodriguez, earn himself a unanimous decision win over the #8 ranked Jeremy Stephens in their grudge rematch.
Rodriguez got off to a strong start, using his kicks to keep the punch-focused Stephens out of the pocket. The second round saw Rodriguez land a crippling body kick, causing Stephens to fall to the floor. Yair went nuts, dropping a ton of ground strikes as Stephens was trying to recover. Stephens went on to recover, and found a moment to return some strikes before the bell. Stephens owned the final round, taking top position and keeping it. He was able to dish out plenty of punches and elbows alike, but was unable to produce a finish and lost the decision.
