Charles Oliveira believes he can do better than Kevin Lee in every aspect of their fight at UFC Brasilia.
Charles Oliveira is confident that there is no way Kevin Lee can best him when they meet in the Octagon.
Paired against the ‘Motown Phenom’ at UFC Brasilia’s main event, ‘Do Bronx’ feels like his evolution has brought him into the best part of his MMA career so far, and tells Combate he believes he can defeat Lee no matter where the fight takes place.
Furthermore, Oliveira targets one more win against someone in the division’s top five, should he defeat Kevin, before he can move on to a title fight and finally accomplish his lifelong dream of fighting for UFC gold.
“I have to respect Kevin Lee. He’s a tough guy, but I’m in the best moment of my career and my life. I’m better than him on the feet, I’m better than him at wrestling, I’m better than him at jiu-jitsu. I’m better than him at everything.”
“I think a win puts me in the top ten, which puts me one win away from fighting for the belt.” Oliveira continued. “I have six wins in a row, I’m going for the seventh against a well-ranked guy. It’s one more fight and then the title fight.”
Currently on a six-fight winning streak, all finishes, Charles Oliveira (28-8-1 NC) defeated some notable lightweight names over that period, such as Jim Miller, Clay Guida and Nik Lentz. The 30-year-old’s last defeat came in December 2018, when he was TKO’d by Paul Felder.
Now, Charles Oliveira is expected to take on Kevin Lee at UFC Fight Night 170’s main event, on March 14, in Brasilia, Brazil.
