Bob Meyrowitz — one of the original co-founders of Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) — will be inducted into the promotion’s Hall of Fame on July 10, 2016 in Las Vegas, Nevada.
For his role in catapulting the promotion, UFC announced that he will be a part of Contributor’s Wing, and will join the likes of the late Jeff Blatnick and Charles “Mask” Lewis of TapouT fame.
Meyrowitz was instrumental in helping UFC 1 hit the pay-per-view (PPV) market way back on Nov. 12, 1993, thanks to his ties with Semaphore Entertainment Group (SEG).
SEG, along with Bob, spearheaded the promotion up until 2001 before ultimately selling the company to ZUFFA, owned by Lorenzo and Frank Ferrtitta.
And the rest, as they say, is history.
Meyrowitz will join former UFC and PRIDE FC Heavyweight Champion Antonio Rodrigo Nogueira as part of the 2016 UFC Hall of Fame class.
