The UFC Copenhagen co-main event was not very competitive.
Job well done for Mark O. Madsen in his first UFC fight.
The Danish wrestler and 2016 Olympic silver medalist received co-main event honors for the UFC Copenhagen card, and he delivered what the fans wanted to see. It took him barely over a minute to dispatch Italian lightweight Danilo Belluardo by TKO to improve to 9-0 in his MMA career.
It took only 40 seconds for Madsen to complete a body lock takedown on Belluardo, much to the crowd’s delight. Madsen dropped down some elbows and punches for a solid half-minute, with Belluardo unable to defend. He was covering up and not really fighting back, so the referee showed mercy and stopped the fight.
Official result: Mark O. Madsen def. Danilo Belluardo by TKO (strikes) at 1:12 of round 1
That’s the third TKO win of Madsen’s career and it was about as trouble-free as you could get. Belluardo drops to 0-2 inside the Octagon, both defeats by TKO.
