Well, it’s certainly been a busy week for Twitter.
UFC megastar Conor McGregor was on social media gushing for United States President Donald Trump and with one “incredible” tweet, proved how monumentally stupid some MMA fans can be when it comes to hero worship.
Launches a dolly through a bus window, sending two fighters to the hospital?
He was defending his teammates honor.
Grabs a fan’s cell phone and smashes it to pieces?
That’s what happens when you don’t respect boundaries.
Slugs a defenseless old man who doesn’t like whiskey?
Thug life.
Endorses U.S. President Donald Trump?
YOU JUST LOST A FAN, BRO.
McGregor is fresh off his UFC 246 knockout win over Donald Cerrone last weekend in Las Vegas, Nevada, a fight in which “Notorious” skipped some of his usual pre-fight trash talk to focus on the task at hand.
The result was a hug from Grandma Cerrone when all was said and done.
McGregor, who stands alongside Trump-lovers like Colby Covington and Dana White, was responding to a Tweet from the controversial real estate mogul that inexplicably linked the legacy of Martin Luther King Jr. to the success of his U.S. presidency.
Have a look:
Phenomenal President. Quite possibly the USA . Most certainly one of them anyway, as he sits atop the shoulders of many amazing giants that came before him. No easy feet.
Early stages of term also.
Incredible.
Congrats and Happy Martin Luther King Jr. day America ??— Conor McGregor (@TheNotoriousMMA) January 21, 2020
I guess his big, fat mouth isn’t so bad after all.
Trump is no stranger to combat sports, having given UFC a platform for competition by way of Atlantic City casinos during the MMA dark ages, when most of the county frowned upon cage fighting (and the people who were part of it).
McGregor is expected to return to the Octagon in March.
