UFC Fight Island 7 odds: Holloway vs. Kattar projected to go the distance

Check out the betting odds for Saturday’s early UFC on ABC card: UFC FIGHT ISLAND 7: ‘HOLLOWAY VS KATTAR’ where Max Holloway is favored over Calvin kattar in the main event.

It’s time for more MMA in Abu Dhabi as UFC on ABC 1 kicks off January 16th from Fight Island. The marquee matchup of the day is getting the company’s former featherweight ruler, Max Holloway, squaring up with the promotion’s #4 ranked 145-pounder, Calvin Kattar. Bloody Elbow is here to provide the betting lines and propositions for this collision, as well as for the rest of the UFC on ABC card.

The bookies are liking them some Holloway here. Odds.com has the former champion listed as a -147 betting favorite, with a successful $100 wager paying out $168.03. Going back the other way, Kattar is being offered up as a +137 underdog, with a winning $100 bet cashing out $237 altogether. It’s understandable why the former champ gets the respect from the bet-setters here. Simply put, he’s proven. Kattar just hasn’t yet to put together the same body of work, although he appears to be on the way.

The oddsmakers are projecting the UFC on ABC 1 main event to reach the scorecards. The prop bet regarding this fight going the distance has the ‘Yes’ selection favored at -160, and the ‘No’ option on deck at an underdog line of +150. The over/under for Holloway vs. Kattar has been set at 4.5 rounds. Gamblers can lay the price on ‘Over 4.5’ for a cost of -175, or take the price on ‘Under 4.5’ at a value of +155. You would have to go back pretty far to find a fight in which either of these warriors were finished. Dustin Poirier sub’d Max in their first fight at UFC 143 way back in 2012, which was Holloway’s fifth professional MMA fight. The last time Kattar was finished was a RNC loss to James Jones in his fourth pro bout at EliteXC: Primetime in 2008.
