UFC Fight Night 105: Edmond Tarverdyan won’t corner Travis Browne against Derrick Lewis after all

Edmond Tarverdyan may still be Travis Browne’s head trainer, but he won’t be cornering “Hapa” for his upcoming fight against Derrick Lewis at UFC Fight Night 105 this weekend (Sun., Feb. 19, 2017) in Halifax, Nova Scotia, Canada. That’s according to Mike Bohn, who got the word straight from the horse’s mouth.

Travis Browne confirmed to me that Edmond Tarverdyan will NOT be in his corner at #UFCHalifax. Ray Sefo & Ricky Lundell get the assignment.

After Browne was spotted training at Kings MMA, many believed he had ditched the embattled trainer, but “Hapa” quickly cleared things up, saying that the only thing changing was his camp location.

He also took the time to defend Tarverdyan, as his head trainer was on the wrong end of constant negative criticism following Ronda Rousey’s 48-second knockout loss to Amanda Nunes at UFC 207 in Dec. 2016 (see it). Nevertheless, Tarverdyan — for unknown reasons — will not be present to help Browne end his two-fight skid against “Black Beast,” who is known for ending fights rather swiftly and violently.
