Before Cub Swanson takes on Artem Lobov in the main event of UFC Fight Night 108 this weekend (Sat., April 22, 2017) inside Bridgestone Arena in Nashville, Tennessee, let’s take a trip back down memory lane to see one of Cub’s most dominant performances.
In July of 2013, Swanson took on kickboxing specialist Dennis Siver at UFC 162, which featured a Middleweight title fight between Anderson Silva and Chris Weidman. And Cub looked solid, peppering Siver throughout the bout with a mixture of combinations that had the German striker reeling.
In the final round, Cub unleashed a wicked combination that floored Siver, subsequently pouncing on his fallen foe to deliver some vicious ground-and-pound. In the end, Swanson actually eased up on the punishment in order to force the referee on duty to put a halt to the action.
There’s no telling if Cub will do the same if he happens to get Lobov in the same situation come fight night, as the two men simply do not like one another.
