UFC Fight Night 114 results: Next matches to make for ‘Pettis vs. Moreno’ main card winners

Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) returned to action for UFC Fight Night 114: “Pettis vs Moreno” which went down last night (Sat., Aug. 5, 2017) inside Mexico City Arena in Mexico City, Mexico.

The promotion’s latest mixed martial arts (MMA) card was headlined by a Flyweight bout that saw Sergio Pettis outscore Brandon Moreno after five-rounds of dominant action walk away with a unanimous decision win. Plus, Alexa Grasso got back in the win column after taking out tough-as-nails Randa Markos in the co-main event of the evening (recap).

Winner: Sergio Pettis

Who He Should Fight Next: Henry Cejudo

“The Phenom” and the former Olympic gold medalist were all set to tango at UFC 211 last May before Cejudo was forced out of the bout two days before fight night with an injury.

After defeating “Assassin Baby,” Pettis opted to call for UFC to re-book the matchup in order to take care of their unfinished business. Book it, as a win for either man is big in many ways, as Pettis can solidify himself as legit title contender while Henry can try to snap his two-fight losing streak.

Winner: Alexa Grasso

Who She Should Fight Next: Carla Esparza

Both women recently got back in the win column, as Grasso managed to defeat Randa Markos in Mexico City, while Esparza defeated Maryna Munoz in her previous outing. Graso should finally herself in he top 15 after her win over Randa, which means her challenges should only get tougher. Esparza isn’t exactly the world beater many expected after she was crowned the first-ever UFC women’s strawweight champion. A win over the highly-touted Grasso, though, could expedite her return to the big dance. For Alexa, it’s a chance to get a big win over a big name.

Winner: Niko Price

Who She Should Fight Next: Alex Oliviera

Nike remained undefeated at 10-0 by absolutely bulldozing right past Alan Jouban with a first round knockout, giving him his third big win inside the Octagon. “Cowboy” meanwhile, is riding high with four straight wins, including his first-round knockout defeat over Ryan LaFlare at UFC on FOX 25.

Both men like to bang and have shown they can clean anyone’s clock in the blink of an eye. It’s a fight that has “Fight of the Night” written all over it, and a win for either man can do wonder’s for their careers.

Winner: Sam Alvey

Who He Should Fight Next: Tim Boetsch

Both Alvey and Boetsch are coming off big wins over former champions, as Sam defeated ex-UFC Light Heavyweight champion Rashad Evans, while “The Barbarian” defeated former UFC Welterweight champion Johny Hendricks in his last outing. Alvey’s win over Rashad is without a doubt the biggest of his career, and it could be just what he needed in order to finally break into he top 15. If not, a win over Tim will definitely do the trick.

Winner: Alejandro Perez

Whe He Should Fight Next: Albert Morales

Perez and Morales fought to a draw at UFC Fight Night 94 last September after Perez was deducted a point after a late hit after the bell. Sure, Morales has gone 1-2 since then, but I can’t see another fight that makes sense for either man. There is no real science behind other than to have them settle the score once and for all. And I’m sure both men would like to have a clear win over the other on their mixed martial arts (MMA) record.
