Dustin Poirier was one of four fighters to receive extended medical suspensions in the aftermath of UFC Fight Night 63, according to information released to MMAFighting.com by the Virginia Department of Professional & Occupational Regulation.
Despite needing less than four minutes to knock out Diego Ferreria in his victorious return to the lightweight division, Poirier was given the event’s longest suspension. He’ll be sidelined for 60 days before being allowed to return to competition.
Three additional fighters — Shamil Abdurakhimov, Milana Dudieva, and Ricardo Lamas — will be required to sit out 30 days following their respective losses this past Saturday.
UFC Fight Night 63 took place April 4 at the Patriot Center in Fairfax, Virginia. The entire card aired live on FOX Sports 1. Two-time featherweight title challenger Chad Mendes crushed Lamas via first-round TKO in the night’s main event.
