Before Alistair Overeem faces off against Andrei Arlovski at UFC Fight Night 87 on May 8, 2016 in Rotterdam, Netherlands, take a trip back to see “The Reem” destroy Brock Lesnar in his Octagon debut.
The bout took place way back in 2011 at UFC 141 in a fight that promised fireworks but was anything but.
A very timid Lesnar failed to get off any offense throughout the two and a half minute fight, even failing to take his fellow behemoth down.
What he did do, however, was eat plenty of powerful blows from the former K-1 kickboxing champion, specifically a bevy of knees to the midsection which took the wind, and life, out of the former WWE star-turned UFC Heavyweight champion.
In the end, it was a devastating body kick right to the gut that folded Lesnar like a cheap lawn chair, which led to him eating some vicious strikes from the ex-Strikeforce champion.
Currently riding a three-fight win streak, “The Reem” will look for his fourth in a row when faces off against his Jackson-Winkeljohn stablemate, Arlovski, in the main event of UFC Fight Night 87.
