Live, strike-by-strike updates for today’s UFC Nashville card, which is headlined by the #4 featherweight Cub Swanson taking on the unranked Artem Lobov.

The UFC Fight Night 108 headliner will see the #4 ranked UFC featherweight Cub Swanson do battle with Conor McGregor’s teammate, and unranked 145’er, Artem Lobov. The co-main event of the evening will see “Ragin” Al Iaquinta return to the Octagon, following a 2-year absence from the sport, to take on the 20+ UFC fight veteran Diego Sanchez.

Main Card (FS1):
Cub Swanson vs. Artem Lobov: Featherweight
Rd. 1- Swanson opens the bout with a leg kick. The fighters clinch up, and Swanson strikes the thigh of Lobov with several knees. Lobov scores a takedown, but Swanson pops back up to his feet. A left hook to leg kick lands for Swanson. A stiff cross lands flush to the jaw of Lobov. Lobov connects with two consecutive leg kicks. Swanson misses with a wild spinning heel kick. Lobov lands a solid left hand to the head, and Swanson returns a right hand. Swanson ducks under a Lobov haymaker. Lobov lands a leg kick followed by an uppercut. Swanson lands a head kick as the round comes to a close. 10-9 Swanson
Rd. 2- Lobov launches a right hand but eats a right hand for his troubles. Swanson lands clean with a head kick, but Lobov shakes it off. Lobov lands a leg kick, but eats a left hook to the head. Swanson scores again with a stiff cross, and Lobov returns the favor. An overhand right lands for Lobov, and then lands a left hook to the temple of Swanson. The featherweights clinch up in the center of the Octagon, and Swanson lands a knee to the body. Lobov attempts a takedown but Swanson remains vertical. Swanson goes for the takedown and earns top control. Lobov looks to get up, but exposes his back in the process. Swanson lands some softening shots from back control, and looks for the Rear-Naked Choke. Lobov stands to his feet, and Swanson hops off of his back right before the bell sounds. 10-9 Swanson
Rd. 3- Lobov comes out flat-footed, but lands leg kick. Swanson throws his left hook, and then again, both times connecting. Lobov connects to the head with his southpaw left hand. Lobov lands a hook-cross-hook combo. Swanson presses Lobov up against the cage, but Lobov finds open space. Swanson leans back to avoid a punch, and cracks lobov with a right hand. Swanson connects on a head kick that seems to wobble Lobov. The referee calls a timeout for the doctor to take a look at Lobov’s cut eyelid. Action resumes, and cub lands a cross-hook combo to the jaw of Lobov. A stiff right hand connects for Lobov. Swanson pokes the stomach of Lobov with a cross, and then one to the face. A stinging right hook lands for Swanson. A cartwheel kick connects, but Lobov scores a late takedown as the round expires. 10-9 Swanson
Al Iaquinta vs. Diego Sanchez: Lightweight
Rd. 1- Sanchez opens the fight with a kick to the body of Iaquinta. Iaquinta lands a stiff right hand the face of Sanchez. Iaquinta sticks out his left hand looking to measure Sanchez. A clean right hook drops Sanchez, and Iaquinta pounces. Sanchez makes it back to his feet, but Iaquinta lands a laser right hand that shut out the lights of Sanchez.

Ovince Saint Preux vs. Marcos Rogerio de Lima: Light Heavyweight
Rd. 1- The bout starts with de Lima launching kicks to the body and to the leg of OSP. A body kick lands for de Lima, followed by a leg kick. OSP moves out of the way of two whiffing kicks from de Lima. OSP moves forward and connects with a straight left hand. A hook-cross combo lands for de Lima. The crowd chants ‘OSP’ as de Lima kicks OSP in the leg. OSP lands a body kick of his own. OSP closes the distance with a jab, but decides to move back out of range. OSP shoots in but de Lima fends it off. OSP goes high with a head kick, but de Lima blocks the bulk of it. 10-9 de Lima
Rd. 2- OSP lands a jab to open the second frame. OSP catches a de Lima kick, and falls into the full guard. OSP opens up de Lima with chipping elbows. OSP pulls out the legs of de Lima as he tries to get back to his feet. de Lima holds on to a headlock, and OSP looks for a Von Flue Choke. OSP sticks with the submission, and de Lima has had enough, and taps out.

John Dodson vs. Eddie Wineland: Bantamweight
Rd. 1- Wineland comes out pumping his jab, measuring his opponent. Wineland lands a stiff straight right as Dodson moved in. Dodson misses with a right hand as Wineland slipped just out of the way. Dodson lands a cross to the body and then moves out of range. Dodson lands another body cross to the midsection of Wineland. Dodson lands another body punch, but then goes upstairs to land to the head. Wineland throws a bunch of feints, and connects with an uppercut to the jaw. Dodson returns to the body with a stiff cross. Dodson lands a big overhand right to close out the first round. 10-9 Dodson
Rd. 2- Dodson feints in, Wineland misses a cross, and Dodson lands a right hand to the face. Wineland probes with his jab, keeping Dodson on the outside. Wineland lands a right hand as Dodson throws a body kick. Dodson lands a kick to the liver of Wineland. A flush left hand lands for Dodson. A massive head kick lands for Dodson, but Wineland takes it like a champ. A thudding body kick lands for Dodson, and then he moves out of range. Wineland continues to pump his jab in the air, but is unable to land on the quicker Dodson. 10-9 Dodson
Rd. 3- Wineland comes out with urgency, throwing a 3-punch combo, but Dodson slips them and lands a punch of his own. Wineland connects with a stiff right hand as Dodson rushes in. Dodson connects with a clean left hand to the face. Dodson lands three-consecutive left hands that back up Wineland to the fence. Wineland continues to pump his jab, but is unable to follow them up with anything. Dodson lands a slick body kick under the guard of Wineland. 10-9 Dodson

Joe Lauzon vs. Stevie Ray: Lightweight
Rd.1- Lauzon catches a kick and gets a brief takedown, before ray springs back to his feet. Lauzon secures a bodylock takedown, and Ray rolls for a leglock. Lauzon lands a big elbow from the top, and takes the back of Ray. Lauzon works for the Rear-Naked Choke, but bails for the full mount. Lauzon drops a few bows to the skull of Ray. Ray recovers half guard, and looks for another leg lock. Lauzon lands a big punch from the top. Lauzon rides on Ray, as his opponent is unable to anything except defend from his back. Lauzon peppers Ray from the top with big elbows as the round ends. 10-8 Lauzon
Rd. 2- Lauzon comes out of the corner looking a bit labored. Ray lands a knee from the clinch. Ray lands a right hook to the body of Lauzon, followed by a jab to the face. Southpaw left hook lands to the head for Ray. Lauzon is getting tagged as Ray begins to unload punches. Lauzon scores a much needed takedown off of a body kick from Ray. A big elbow lands for Lauzon from the full guard of Ray. Lauzon passes into half guard , and lands a knee to the body from the top. Lauzon postures up and lands a big punch to the face of Ray. Rd. 3- Ray opens the round with a left hook followed by a knee to the body of Lauzon. A big elbow lands for Ray, but Lauzon handles it well. Ray lands a trifecta of elbows, as Lauzon simply covers up for defense. Lauzon lands a jab, but is cracked with a hook from Ray. Lauzon lands a sharp left hand then shoots in for the takedown. Ray defends the takedown with Travis Browne elbows. Ray reaches for a Kimora, and winds up on his back again. Ray spams elbows to the top of his opponent’s head, as Lauzon looks to be catching his breath on top. Ray returns to his feet and lands a solid knee to the head from the clinch. A well placed liver kick lands for Ray. Ray smells blood and pours it on with 30 seconds left. Lauzon stands there and covers up, eating ample strikes as the final bell sounds. 10-9 Ray

Jake Ellenberger vs. Mike Perry: Welterweight
Rd.1- Perry comes out with a head kick, but Ellenberger blasts a takedown to secure top position. Perry returns to his feet. An overhand right misses for Ellenberger. Perry throws back-to-back liver kicks that land. Ellenberger lands flush with a right hook to the jaw. Perry misses with an overhand right. Perry lands an inside leg kick. Ellenberger misses with the right hand but lands with the left. Perry lands a solid knee to the body of his opponent. Both fighters exchange jabs. Perry lands with a leg kick to the thigh. Ellenberger lands a strong body kick. Ellenberger scores a takedown, but allows Perry to return to his feet. Ellenberger lands a knee to the body from the clinch to close out the opening round. Rd.2- Perry starts the round with a heavy kick to the body. Ellenberger lands with a left hook to right uppercut. Ellenberger connects again and finishes with a knee. Perry lands a big shot the floors Ellenberger. Perry lands a monstrous elbow that drops Ellenberger like a sack of potatoes, and it’s over!

Rd. 1- A big kick buckles the leg of Alvey to start the bout. Alvey backs up to the cage, looking to counter punch. A head kick is blocked by Alvey. Leites lands with a right hand, followed by a heavy leg kick. Another leg kick lands for Leites, and another. Alvey misses with a southpaw cross. Leites throws a head kick, but Alvey defends well. Alvey lands a solid right hand that got the attention of Leites. Another Leites head kick is blocked. Leites attempts a takedown, but Alvey has none of it. 10-9 Leites
Rd. 2- Leites returns to kicking the lead leg of Alvey to open the second stanza. Alvey blocks another Leites head kick. Alvey is showing signs of damage on his lead leg. Alvey actually checks a leg kick. A stiff left hand lands to the jaw of Leites. Alvey wings two hooks that miss, and presses Leites against the fence. Another massive leg kick lands to the lead leg of Alvey. Alvey lands a big left hand that sends Leites stumbling backwards. Leites scores a takedown with about 30 seconds left in the round, but Alvey is quick to return to his feet. 10-9 Leites
Rd. 3- Alvey presses forward with a flurry of punches. Leites lands an inadvertent kick to the groin of Alvey. A body kick lands for Leites off of the feint, as Alvey misses with the cross. Leites lands with a head kick, but Alvey eats it like a champion. Alvey is accidentally poked in the eye. Alvey marches forward and blocks a Leites head kick. A single straight left lands for Alvey. Leites grabs ahold of a single leg, and presses Alvey into the fence. 10-9 Alvey

Dustin Ortiz vs. Brandon Moreno: Flyweight
Rd. 1- Ortiz immediately pressed Moreno into the fence, where he finds back control. Moreno used the Kimora to try and improve position, but Ortiz muscled out top control. Ortiz transitions to the back, but Moreno makes his way to his feet, and finds separation. Moreno lands a left hook, but Ortiz blasts a takedown. Moreno instantly pops up to his feet. Ortiz presses Moreno up against the fence, and Moreno rolls for another Kimora. Moreno sweeps Ortiz to find full mount, but Ortiz would reverse the reversal to reclaim top position. 10-9 Ortiz
Rd. 2- Ortiz presses forward but eats a jab to start the round. Both flyweights exchange leg kicks. Ortiz lands a right cross, and throws another. Left hook to the body lands for Moreno, but Ortiz shoots in to score the takedown. Moreno scrambles back to his feet to find open space. Moreno clips Ortiz with a big kick to the head, and pounces on Ortiz. Moreno takes the back and looks for the Rear-Naked Choke. Ortiz defends the choke momentarily, but loses consciousness, and Moreno wins the fight!

Scott Holtzman vs. Michael McBride: Lightweight
Rd. 1- Holtzman lands a clean left hand to the chin of McBride to start the bout. Holtzman presses his opponent against the cage and lands a big knee. McBride rolls for a Kimora, and ends up on the bottom. Holtzman wisely allows McBride back to his feet. Holtzman catches a kick and returns fire with a low kick. A big hook drops McBride, but Holtzman lets him back up to his feet. McBride gets kicked cleanly in the groin, and the action is paused. Holtzman right away throws to the body then goes over the top to land clean. Holtzman feints his way in and lands another big left hand to the face of McBride. A body kick lands for McBride, but Holtzman responds with another left hand. McBride rolls for another Kimora but Holtzman hangs tough as the round expires. 10-9 Holtzman
Rd. 2- McBride opens with a body kick, but Holtzman counters with a leg kick of his own. McBride loses his mouth piece. Holtzman lands a big overhand right hand. Holtzman weaves his way inside throwing hooks, and lands a knee on the inside. McBride looks to lure Holtzman into a grappling affair, but Holtzman wants it standing. Holtzman catches a lazy kick and gets the trip, and decides to try his hand at the ground. McBride attacks the leg, and uses it to obtain back control. Holtzman spins inside the guard to find top control. Holtzman lands some heavy ground and pound as he postures up inside the guard of McBride. Holtzman allows McBride to stand up. McBride dives for a takedown but Holtzman snuffs it out right away. Holtzman follows McBride to the ground and lands a few punches to the face as the round expires. 10-8 Holtzman
Rd. 3- Holtzman lands a laser right hand right to the jaw of McBride. Holtzman lands a solid uppercut, but McBride eats it well. The volume of Holtzman is constant as he continues to punch McBride in the face. A heavy leg kick lands for Holtzman. A body punch lands for Holtzman. McBride lands an uppercut, and Holtzman shoots in for the takedown. McBride works for the Kimora, but Holtzman escapes and lands some mean elbows to the face. A big hammerfist lands for McBride, but McBride continues to show off his impressive chin. Holtzman stands up and kicks the legs of the downed McBride. Taylor lands a jarring right hand right to the jaw of Penne. Penne leaps in with a cross that misses wide. Penne claims the center of the cage and lands a solid body kick. Two strong knees land for Penne, causing Taylor to retreat momentarily. Taylor pressures forward and throws a 3-pinch flurry that misses. Penne lands another knee to the body. Penne shoots from outside and Taylor easily shucks it off. 10-9 Taylor

Taylor throws on the inside, but Penne grabs the Thai Plum and delivers a knee. Taylor lands an inside leg kick. Penne grabs the Plum and lands a knee as she eats two hooks from Taylor. A big right hand misses for Taylor. A jab lands for Taylor, but her follow up right hand misses. Penne lands a jab but sustains a heavy leg kick from Taylor. Left hook lands for Taylor. Rd. 1- Dandois eats a few shots as she closes the distance, and lands into the guard of Davis. Dandois postures up looking to rain down punches, but Davis is able to regain control. Davis rolls for an armbar, and flips over Dandois to better attempt the submission. Davis bails on the submission and moves to full mount. Dandois uses her legs in an unorthodox manner to improve position and look for a leg lock. Dandois works her way to top position, and Davis attacked a kneebar as the round ended. 10-9 Davis
Rd. 2- Davis presses forward with strikes, as Dandois’ disadvantage on the feet is apparent. Dandois shoots in for a takedown, but Davis has none of it, and pushes Dandois up against the cage. Dandois attempts a head and arm throw, but separates to land an uppercut. Davis lands a kick to the body. Dandois grabs ahold of the clinch and tries a throw, but Davis ends up in top control. Davis allows Dandois to stand up. Davis throws a jab but Dandois scores a late takedown. 10-9 Davis
Rd. 3- A brief exchange of punches and Dandois earns a double leg takedown. Dandois lands some short punches from the full guard of Davis. Davis scrambles back to her feet. Davis connects with a solid body kick, but Dandois shoves her up against the cage. Dandois executes a head and arm throw, but holds on to the head, allowing Davis to escape. Davis goes back to the body kick. Dandois scores another takedown and lands in full guard. Davis works her high guard, and locks up a triangle choke. Bryan Barberena vs. Joe Proctor: Welterweight
Rd. 1- Proctor took to the center and pressured Barberena backwards. Barberena responded with a stiff leg kick. Barberena lands the southpaw left hand with authority, but Proctor shakes it off. Proctor blitzes forward with a flurry, but only one may have landed. Barberena leaps in with a wide hook that misses by a mile. Proctor rushes in with 2 punches and finishes with a hard leg kick. A big right hand lands for Barberena that buckled Proctor. Barberena launches viscous knees from the clinch that sent Proctor to the canvas. A few ground strikes, and the referee steps in to rescue Proctor.

Hector Sandoval vs. Matt Schnell: Flyweight
Rd. 1- Sandoval opens the bout with a heavy leg kick to the thigh of Schnell. Sandoval returns to the leg kick, but Schnell met him with a crisp right hand. Sandoval answers with some hard inside punches that got the attention of Schnell. Schnell scores a brief takedown, but Sandoval returned right back to his feet. Schnell grabs the Thai Plum, but eats a few hooks for his troubles. Sandoval catches a kick and shoots for the takedown, but Schnell locks up a tight Guillotine. Sandoval would slam his way out of danger, and deliver a few hammerfists that surprisingly put Schnell out cold.
