Ten decisions out of thirteen fights led to a long night for fans who watched UFC Fight Night: Werdum vs. Tybura.
UFC Fight Night: Werdum vs. Tybura definitely wasn’t exactly a compelling card on paper, and outside of a handful of prelims, it was not really a memorable event whatsoever. What you can’t deny is the fact that this card did make history, as it’s officially the longest event the UFC has ever run.

The previous record was held by last year’s UFC Fight Night: Thompson vs. MacDonald card, which had 2:54:41 of fight time. That card similarly had 13 fights, and while there were seven finishes, six of them occurred in the third round. UFC Sydney had just three finishes, with Ryan Benoit’s KO of Ashkan Mokhtarian occurring in the final frame.
A card filled with decisions doesn’t necessarily mean the fights weren’t great, but UFC Sydney sure could’ve used more Frank Camacho vs. Damien Brown type of thrillers than the slog that was Anthony Hamilton vs. Adam Wieczorek. Add in the FS1 pacing, and you’re looking at an event that lasted roughly seven hours when you factor in commercials, introductions, intermissions, etc.
