Brad Pickett has a new opponent for UFC Fight Night card in London on March 8 as the promotion announced the signing of Irish flyweight Neil Seery.
Pickett (23-8) makes his flyweight debut after going 3-2 in the UFC against Seery (13-9), who enters the Octagon riding a four-fight win streak with three finishes.
“It’s a great honor and I’m excited for the opportunity to showcase my talent on a world stage,” Seery stated. “He’s an excellent fighter that shows time and time again that he has heart. He is currently my favorite fighter to watch as a fan. It will be a fun fight.”
Headlined by Alexander Gustafsson vs. Jimi Manuwa, UFC’s return to London takes place at the The O2 Arena and airs exclusively on UFC Fight Pass.
Also announced on Thursday, two match-ups were added to UFC 173 card in Las Vegas, Nevada, on May 24.
In the featherweight division, Sam Sicilia (12-4) takes on UFC newcomer Doo Ho Choi (11-1). Fresh off impressive submission victories, undefeated Chris Holdsworth (5-0) battles Kyung Ho Kang (12-7) in the bantamweight division.
UFC’s card in Cincinnati is also filling up fast, as three more bouts were added to the event.
Coming off a knockout win over Dustin Pague in his Octagon debut, Kyoji Horiguchi cuts down to flyweight to fight Darrell Montague (13-3). In the same weight class, Chris Cariaso (16-5) meets undefeated Louis Smolka (7-0).
Another fight for this card has also been reported, but not yet confirmed by the promotion. Undefeated Yan Cabral is expected to welcome Alexander Yakovlev to the Octagon in Cincinnati, according to a report by PVT. TUF Brazil 2’s Cabral (11-0) defeated David Mitchell in his UFC debut, and Yakovlev (21-4-1) enters the promotion fresh off a decision win over Paul Daley in Moscow, Russia.
