Nevada State Athletic Commission (NSAC) held its monthly meeting earlier today (Nov. 4) and on the docket was a handful of Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) athletes charged with positive drug tests, including lightweight standout Kevin Croom.

“The Hard-Hitting Hillbilly” was fined $1,800 — plus prosecution fees — and suspended until Jan. 26 of next year after flunking for marijuana, according to MMA Junkie. Croom, 33, stepped in on super short notice to submit Roosevelt Roberts at UFC Vegas 10.

In addition, Dana White’s “Contender Series” hopeful Jose Flores, who was tapped by Jordan Leavitt back on Aug. 4, also tested positive for marijuana and will be sat until Dec. 4, but not before shelling out $895.35 to NSAC.

Similarly, heavyweight hurter Chad Johnson was knocked out of a potential UFC contract by Josh Parisian, then knocked out of the fight game altogether by NSAC. “Big Rig” was dinged $895.35 and benched until May 18 for a banned amphetamine.

Lastly, UFC welterweight veteran Niko Price (carboxy THC) and “Contender Series” middleweight Joe Pyfer (modulator metabolites) will remain on the sidelines until later this year, as NSAC works out the details for their respective drug cases.
