Nevada State Athletic Commission (NSAC) will review an application to allow UFC to co-promote the Floyd Mayweather vs. Conor McGregor boxing match, which takes place later this month (Sat., Aug. 26, 2017) inside T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas, Nevada.
Zuffa is applying for the license in order to pay McGregor for the fight because he’s under contract to the organization. Premier Boxing Champions, through TGB Promotions, are also applying for a license to promote the upcoming Mayweather vs. McGregor card because they will handle the preliminary card airing on FOX ahead of the pay-per-view promoted by Mayweather Promotions.

NSAC will meet Aug. 16 in “Sin City” to hear that request and to also vote on whether or not to allow the fighters involved to change their boxing gloves from 10oz to 8oz, after “Money” and “Notorious” verbally agreed to switch ‘em up earlier this week.
Mayweather Promotions is leading the way in terms of fight promotion, while Showtime sports is handling the pay-per-view (PPV) duties. UFC and Dana White were instrumental in getting McGregor’s side of the deal bagged and tagged.
Lots of moving parts to this machine and we still have roughly two weeks to go.
