The UFC is looking to add another set of words to its trademark list.

The UFC is known to be a savvy operator in business. Over the years, the company has put a stamp of ownership on the letters “UFC”, the words “The Octagon,” and “The Ultimate Fighter,” as well as the phrase “As real as it gets.” More recently, they’ve tried to trademark terms like BMF and Baddest Motherf—ker, along with the lesser known ones like ‘UFC Fightlore’ or ‘UFC Ultimate Sound’.

It looks like a new set of words will be added to the list. Early this week, the UFC filed 22 trademarks for “Fight Island” and “UFC Fight Island” according to attorney Josh Gerben of Gerben Law Firm.

In early April, UFC president Dana White revealed that he is on the verge of securing a private island for future UFC fights. In an interview with ESPN’s Brett Okamoto a few days later, he confirmed that its infrastructure will be finalized in a month.

“That’s why I am telling all of my guys not to worry, because fight island’s gonna happen,” White said. “All the infrastructure’s being built right now and getting put in place. As we get closer to that, then I’ll start figuring out booking fights, getting guys ready. Plus, I can ship guys over there earlier, and they can start training over there in the island.”

White refuses to divulge any more details about fight island, but several fighters like Valentina Shevchenko and Junior dos Santos are already on board with the idea.
