The official weigh ins for the upcoming UFC Fight Pass Invitational (UFC FPI) 8 event are now complete, with all 18 combatants stepping on the scale inside the promotion’s APEX facility in Las Vegas, Nevada. That’s where the grappling action will go down on Thurs. night (Oct. 10, 2024), LIVE at 8 p.m. ET on the UFC Fight Pass digital network. Not long removed from his cash-grab performance at the Craig Jones Invitational, Nicky Rod will look to keep his win streak going against top grappling prospect Michael Pixley. In the UFC FPI 8 co-main event, Renato Canuto and PJ Barch trade limbs at 170 pounds.

UFC lauds Nicky Rod as “the winningest athlete in FPI history.”
Unfortunately, his calls for a third Gordon Ryan fight have gone unanswered. Probably because the no-gi “King” is too “exhausted” to train for another jiu-jitsu match. Pixley, meanwhile, is a former NCAA and NAIA wrestling champion with an opportunity to shake up the Absolute rankings.
