Prepare yourself for Conor McGregor’s return at UFC 246 on January 18th with the fight that made him the first double champ in UFC history.
UFC 246 is right around the corner on January 18th and you know what that means: it’s time for the UFC to dig through their fight vault and cough up some epic McGregor (and hopefully Cerrone) fights for our enjoyment!
This time the fight they’ve decided to feature is McGregor’s ascension to double champ status via a second round wrecking of Eddie Alvarez. Believe me when I’m telling you: no one was expecting Conor to storm through Alvarez with the ease that he did. This fight honestly doesn’t get the attention it deserves because McGregor made it look easy. But now with it being offered up free and in full, there’s no excuse for you to not spend 10 minutes watching it.
McGregor became the first ever champ champ on this night, November 12th, 2016. Three and a half years later and the Irish superstar is looking to do it again. He’s made it clear in recent interviews that his goal is the 155 and 170 pound belts (perhaps with the BMF belt as well), and while we’d doubt him considering the competition in Khabib Nurmagomedov and Kamaru Usman he’d have to face, we also doubted him when he had to get past Jose Aldo and Eddie Alvarez.
McGregor has a long history of proving his doubters wrong. He claims he’s back to the ways that earned him two belts, so we’ll have to see if that returns him to his winning ways. It all starts on January 18th at the T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas, Nevada against Donald Cerrone.
