UFC Gyms are set for a major expansion after the chain completed the acquisition of the fitness franchise LA Boxing.
The deal was confirmed to MMA Fighting on Monday by UFC Gym’s senior vice president Adam Sedlack after UFC president Dana White alluded to it during remarks at the New Media Expo in Las Vegas.
Sedlack said the deal closed on Dec. 31, 2012.
UFC Gym launched in 2009 and has seven locations worldwide. Its growth has been overseen by Sedlack.
The deal will greatly increase their market presence, as UFC Gym plans to re-brand the LA Boxing facilities.
LA Boxing, founded in 1992, has over 80 franchises across the United States. According to company promotional materials, it is the world’s largest boxing, kickboxing and martial arts gym franchise.
