UFC middleweight Chael Sonnen staying busy on campaign trail, title path

When Chael Sonnen ran for the Oregon House of Representatives in 2004, he campaigned door-to-door eight hours a day. At most doors, he had to introduce himself. That was before he became a middleweight contender in the UFC.

“Now, I knock on the door, they open it up and say, ‘Chael! What are you doing here?'” Sonnen today told MMAjunkie.com.

While his current bid for House District 37 has proved to be much more work than he imagined, he has no intention of giving up until he wins two campaigns: one for Oregon state representative and the other for the UFC’s 185-pound title.
