Before Cub Swanson fights Artem Lobov in the UFC Nashville main event, check out Swanson’s TKO win over Dennis Siver at UFC 162.
We’re taking a flashback to July 7th, 2013, the night of UFC 162 in Las Vegas, Nevada. Anderson Silva would lose by stunning knockout to Chris Weidman in the main event, but there was one other finish on the main card, and it came courtesy of Cub Swanson.
In an entertaining battle, Swanson put away Dennis Siver with gorgeous striking and ground-and-pound in round three. Herb Dean probably could’ve stopped this sooner than he actually did. You can watch the video at the top of the page.
Here’s Brent Brookhouse’s play-by-play of the final round:
Round 3 – Swanson using his speed early to land punches and keep Siver guessing. Siver isn’t able to get going this round with Swanson turning it up. Big right hands by Swanson and Siver goes down. Swanson is pounding away. And pounding away. No idea why Herb Dean isn’t stepping in but he finally does. Cub Swanson wins by TKO (punches), round 3.
And here’s how the BE community reacted to the finish:
