Live, blow-by-blow updates for Saturday’s UFC event in Newark, with welterweights Colby Covington and Robbie Lawler in the main event.

Join us today (Saturday, August 3rd) on Bloody Elbow for live results, discussion, round scoring, and play-by-play as UFC Fight Night: Covington vs. Lawler goes down at the Prudential Center in Newark, New Jersey.

In the main event, welterweight contender Colby Covington looks to (presumably) secure the title shot he’s desperately coveted, as he takes on the hard-hitting former UFC champion Robbie Lawler in a five-round scrap. The co-main event pits New Jersey’s own Jim Miller against fellow longtime lightweight veteran Clay Guida.

This is an unusually early start time because this was supposed to be a European show before it switched over to the US. The six-fight preliminary card starts at 12 PM ET/9 AM PT on ESPN, while the six-fight main card continues on the same network at 3 PM ET/12 PM PT. Play-by-play will only be provided for the main card.

Check out this week’s MMA Vivisection for predictions, analysis and betting odds on the each matchup.
