Check out the betting odds for Saturday’s UFC Norfolk card, where Joseph Benavidez is favored to get past Deiveson Figueiredo in the main event.
UFC Norfolk kicks off this Saturday (February 29th) from the Chartway Arena on the eastern coastline of Virginia. The promotion’s vacant flyweight title will be on the line when the #1 ranked, Joseph Benavidez, collides with the #3 ranked, Deiveson Figueiredo. Well, it looks like only Benavidez will have a chance at gold since Figueiredo came in heavy at the weigh-ins. The co-main event of the evening will take place in the women’s featherweight division. The 7-1 Felicia Spencer is taking on the 6-3 Zarah Fairn, which has been projected to be oneway traffic. Bloody Elbow is on deck to provide the betting odds for this event.
In the UFC Norfolk marquee matchup, the oddsmakers are favoring Benavidez to get the job done and finally become the promotion’s flyweight king. Having won nine of his last ten, only dropping a split decision to Sergio Pettis, Benavidez can be scooped up at a cost of -140. Going back the other way, Figueiredo has only lost once in his 18 professional fights, which was a unanimous decision to Jussier Formiga. The Brazilian is an underdog option here, clocking in at +120. Now Figueiredo missed weight, which traditionally means one of two things. He will either be depleted from trying to get into championship contention, or he will be massive out there with a meaningful size and strength advantage. Either way, the fight is on.
The over/under for this flyweight main event has been set at 4.5 rounds. The ‘Over’ prop owns the favored role, being available at -170, with a +140 comeback on the ‘Under.’ The bookies have projected that this 25-minute matchup will last all five-rounds. The prop bet ‘Fight goes to decision’ is trending at -155, with ‘Fight doesn’t go to decision’ branded with an underdog mark of +125. Whether or not this fight goes the distance a bit hard to predict. Benavidez has been a part of quite a few decisions in his career, but has finished two of his last three victims. Figueiredo has won more of his UFC bouts by way of finish than decisions, but Benavidez has only been stopped one time — and that was at the hands of flyweight G.O.A.T. Demetrious Johnson.
The UFC Norfolk co-main is projected to be a total blowout. Felicia Spencer is the biggest betting favorite on the card, rogering up with a massive -810 moneyline. Her opponent, Zarah Fairn, is naturally the heftiest underdog on the billing, available at a sizable value of +555.
The over/under for this 15-minute affair has been assessed at 1.5 round. The ‘Under’ option is favored at -140, with the ‘Over’ on the table at +110. Judging by just how wide the straight up moneylines are here, it’s no surprise to see the oddsmakers expecting this one to end early. At a cost of -295, the exotic bet ‘Fight doesn’t go to decision’ is moderately favored. On the other side of this coin, gamblers can pick up the prop ‘Fight goes to decision’ for a dog tag of +235.
The bookies aren’t giving Fairn much of a chance when it comes to surviving the fight. ‘Spencer wins inside distance’ is largely favored with a moneyline of -240. By comparison, ‘Fairn wins inside distance’ is sitting with an astronomical underdog tag of +1185. Going one step further, the bet-setters are feeling like Fairn will be tapping out in the UFC Norfolk co-main event. Betters can lay the price on ‘Spencer wins by submission’ for -170, with ‘Any other result’ at +130. For fun, the ‘Fairn wins by submission’ proposition is a comical +2400 option, with ‘Any other result’ goofing around in lofty altitude around -7200.
