UFC now sponsored by 7-Eleven because Slurpees are badass, just like MMA

In Oklahoma, Slurpees are known as “Icy Drinks” (so imaginative).

Forget about all those beers being sold at the arenas, it’s now time to man up and drink something that will put hair on your chest (sorry, ladies), because Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) is now sponsored by the 7-Eleven chain of convenience stores.

I’m not sure why I find this so funny, aside from my “issues,” but yeah, this is real.

“UFC has a huge fan base of both male and female young adults who like to shop at convenience stores, making this promotion a great match-up,” said 7-Eleven Marketing Director Maria Trujillo. “With one in four of those UFC convenience store shoppers choosing 7-Eleven, that leaves a lot of potential to reach an untapped audience that is important to us. I believe this collaboration that includes exclusive UFC merchandise and a prize on every Big Gulp cup provides a great incentive to entice even more fans to shop at 7-Eleven.”

A prize on every Big Gulp? I hope it’s a seven-day trial to UFC Fight Pass!

UFC fighters expected to make their plastic cup debut include UFC welterweight champion Tyron Woodley, UFC bantamweight champion Cody Garbrandt, UFC women’s 135-pound titleholder Amanda Nunes, former UFC light heavyweight champion Daniel Cormier, and UFC featherweight Yair Rodriguez.

So … who’s thirsty?
