Check out the betting odds for a likely UFC heavyweight title fight between the champ, Francis Ngannou, and the challenger, Cyril Gane.
UFC 265 this past Saturday witnessed Cyril Gane put on a near perfect performance against Derrick Lewis, before finishing him off in the third round. With undisputed heavyweight champion, Francis Ngannou, seeming to be losing steam with a possible Stipe Miocic trilogy and a Jon Jones super-fight, it looks as though Gane will be next in line to challenge for his belt. So of course, betting odds have surfaced for this potential matchup, and Bloody Elbow is here to give them to you. Oh, I might be obligated to mention that Ngannou vs. Gane would be a title unification bout, since Cyril won an interim title for beating Lewis for some reason.
Online sportsbook, SportsBetting.ag, had Gane opening up as a -130 betting favorite, with an initial +110 underdog offering for Ngannou. The betting public jumped all over this one, dropping coin on the Francis, and shifting both moneylines to -110 a piece. So as of right now, a winning $100 wager either way would return you a grand total of $190.91. It should also be noted that the website states that this fight must happen by June of 2022 for action.
Even money seems legit here, so kudos to anyone who picked up Ngannou at dog odds. You found an underdog line for a man that has finished all-eleven of his UFC wins, has only been out-wrestled or stonewalled, and has only ben getting better. What a deal! For those thinking that Ngannou’s time at the top has come and Gane, then now would be the time to pick up the 10-0 undefeated Cyril. He’s now at a better value, and it’s unlikely for him to ever see a plus line here. In fact, if this match actually gets booked (it likely will) then don’t be surprised if both moneylines remain in minus territory the whole time.
