Check out the betting lines for a possible rematch between the UFC’s welterweight champion, Kamaru Usman, and the BMF himself, Jorge Masvidal.
The UFC’s welterweight champion, Kamaru Usman, just stopped Gilbert Burns at UFC 258 in what was a gutsy performance, on top of being his third consecutive title defense. In his post-fight interview, “The Nigerian Nightmare” asked to run it back with BMF Jorge Masvidal, who he took a decision over at UFC 251 back in July of last year. Naturally, betting odds have surfaced for this potential rematch and Bloody Elbow has them on deck.
Online gambling site Sportsbetting.ag has the UFC’s 170-pound king sizably favored at -310, with a winning $100 ticket producing a grand total payout of $138.46. That leaves the BMF in the underdog role, clocking in with a value of +260. That means a successful $100 gamble on Masvidal would return $360 altogether. The website notes that this fight must happen in 2021 for action.
The first time these athletes went heads up, Kamaru was also the betting favorite, sporting a -260 moneyline to Jorge’s dog tag of +200. Masvidal hasn’t competed since their first fight, while Usman has just solidified himself as the very best welterweight in the UFC, if not the world. Of course is he is a heavier betting favorite than before, but to be fair, Jorge did step in on six-days notice for their first-fight — raising the question of ‘would anything have played out differently had Masvidal gone through a full training camp?’ Perhaps we will get the answer to that question.
