Just 48 hours from the event, UFC on ESPN 3 — which is set to go down from inside Target Center in Minneapolis, Minnesota – has lost a fight, as Vince Murdock has been forced out of his scheduled Featherweight fight against Jordan Griffin.

Murdock took to his Instagram to reveal that doctors deemed him medically unfit to compete this Saturday night (June 29, 2019).

Difficult as it is to say, I must let you know that, I won’t be making the walk this sat. Unfortunately at this time the @ufc requires some more test to clear me medically fit to fight. As difficult as it is for me to write this message, I strongly believe with the required test completed in the coming days I will be cleared to fight . I wanna thank my management @iridiumsports @iridiumsportsagency with the support of the @ufc for the great opportunity and getting me the proper medical attention required to compete and my well being I apologize to everyone that was looking forward to seeing me make the walk this Saturday, no one is more crushed then I am. I strongly believe this will be resolved soon and I will have another opportunity to make the walk ??Again the amount of love and support leading up to this has been overwhelming and can’t thank y’all enough

Murdock — who fights out of Team Alpha Male (TAM) in Sacramento, California — was to be making his Octagon debut on just two weeks notice after stepping in for Chas Skelly. Meanwhile, Griffin has also been removed from the event since there was not ample time to find a suitable replacement.

UFC on ESPN 3 will be headlined by a hard-hitting Heavyweight affair, as Francis Ngannou and Junior dos Santos collide for what could be a No. 1 contender’s fight. In the co-main event, Jussier Formiga and Joseph Benavidez will also be fighting for a potential title fight in the Flyweight division.
