Live, blow-by-blow updates for today’s UFC event on Fight Island on ESPN and ESPN+, which features a featherweight tilt on top.

The headliner comes in the featherweight division, with Calvin Kattar taking on Dan Ige. The co-main will see flyweights Tim Elliott and Ryan Benoit facing off.

This is an ESPN show and is kicking off slightly later than usual. The six-fight preliminary card is scheduled to start at 7pm ET/4pm PT. There will be a stream on ESPN+ as well. The five-fight main card will kick off at 10pm ET/7pm PT on ESPN and ESPN+.

Abdul Razak Alhassan vs. Mounir Lazzez

Round 1 – Leg kick from Lazzez. Alhassan with two big shots and he’s pressing. Step-in elbow from Lazzez. Huge shots from Alhassan! Lazzez showing a hell of a chin! Head kick from Lazzez but Alhassan opens up again. Knees to the body from Lazzez. Lazzez is smiling at him. Elbows from each man. Alshassan gets a right hook through. Two knees to the body from Lazzez and a low kick. Front kick. More kicks. Alhassan kicks low now. Lazzez rips two more leg kicks. Jab. Lazzez digs to the liver and kicks the head. Jab from Alhassan. Uppercut and a left hook from Lazzez. They trade low kicks again. Hard combo from Alhassan. Lazzez shoots in on a double and gets an easy takedown. 10-9 Lazzez.

Round 2 – Alhassan checking kicks now. Lazzez wades in with a big elbow. Low kicks. He wades in with some big punches! Alhassan might be in trouble, but he rips back with a big right hook! Lazzez backs off. and shoots. Alhassan looks for a guillotine but Lazzez passes to side. He works a bit, but is stood up VERY quickly by the ref. That was lame. Alhassan with a right hook. Jump knee and an elbow against the cage from Lazzez and he gets another takedown. He’s trying to move to mount but he’s against the cage. Now he’s in side. And the ref stands them up again! WHAT THE HECK! That was absolutely terrible. Jab from Alhassan. Jump knee from Lazzez. 10-9 Lazzez.

Round 3 – Alhassan shoots in but gets nowhere. Jab. Body shot from Lazzez. Low kick. Step-in knee as Alhassan looks for a takedown. He still manages to get it though. Briefly, as Lazzez gets back up. He’s down again, but Lazzez immediately scoots to the fence again and gets up. They battle in the clinch. Lazzez reverses and looks for a takedown. He gets it but Alhassan looks for a guillotine. Lazzez escapes and he’s in side again. I fully expect the ref to stand this up quickly. He actually isn’t, which is surprising. Alhassan finally gets up with 15 seconds to go. They brawl to the horn. Fun fight! 10-9 and 30-27 Lazzez.
