This is the UFC on FOX 11 live blog for Miesha Tate vs. Liz Carmouche, a women’s bantamweight bout at Saturday night’s UFC event at the Amway Center in Orlando, Fla.
Tate, who has lost three of her past five fights, will face Carmouche, who has won three of her past five fights, on the main card.

Round 1: The referee in charge of the action is Herb Dean. Both fighters open orthodox. Missed outside leg kick from Carmouche. Good jab by Tate as Carmouche moves in. Superman punch for Tate misses. Double underhooks for Carmouche, but it’s Tate pressing Carmouche into the fence. Carmouche turns and scores the double. Tate is able to stand, but Carmouche is behind her. Carmouche turns into her again and takes her down again. Tate stands again, but is tripped to the mat.

Round 2: Tate connects with a short left and Carmouche pushes her into the fence. Tate turns her and drives a knee inside, but fails on a trip takedown. They separate after a few trip attempts along the fence. Tate connects with two lefts and Carmouche pushes her into the fence again. Carmouche manages to pick Tate up for a slam, but Tate stands quickly. And again. Tate is trying to stand, but can’t. Tate creates some separation with a butterfly hook. They stand and Tate tries for a guillotine, but can’t get it.

Round 3: Good one-two from Tate finds the mark. Tate now pressing Carmouche in the fence, scores not one, but two takedowns and is moving into the side control. Now Tate has her back and attempts a rear naked choke and they’re tight, but not over the chin yet. Carmouche seems stuck underneath, but is hanging on. Tate, though, manages to get a completely sunk in choke and Carmouche is in trouble. Carmouche fights it for what seems like a full minute while one arm is completely under the chin. Tate is swtiching from bicep to gable grip, but can’t finish. The fight ends with Miesha on top in side control as she abandons the back.
