Dos Anjos had his moments in the first round, but Nurmagomedov did his thing, initiating the offense and quickly turning it into takedowns and a ground-and-pound. Late in the round, Dos Anjos tagged his opponent a couple times, but it wasn’t enough to steal the round.
Round two was more of the same. Dos Anjos attempted a pair of chokes from the bottom, but Nurmagomedov easily slipped them and resumed control.
In round three, Dos Anjos clearly understood he needed to make something happened, as he pushed forward. But Nurmagomedov scored a ridiculous throw and cruised over the rest of the round.
With the victory, Nurmagomedov improved to 22-0. Dos Anjos dropped to 20-7.
