Matt Brown headlined a list of four fighters to receive extended medical suspensions in the aftermath of UFC on FOX 12, the California State Athletic Commission revealed on Tuesday.
Brown could be sidelined for up to six months due to a potential nasal fracture suffered during his gritty decision loss to Robbie Lawler at UFC on FOX 12’s main event, which took place on July 26 at the SAP Arena in San Jose, CA and snapped Brown’s seven-fight win streak. “The Immortal” also received an additional two-month suspension due to a nasal laceration suffered during the bout, although both sentences may be cut short pending physician clearance.
Undercard fighters Hernani Perpetuo, Tim Means and Andreas Stahl also received extended medical suspensions in the wake of UFC on FOX 12. Perpetuo is out indefinitely due to potential fractures in his left wrist and right foot, while Means and Stahl could be sidelined for up to six months due to various injuries sustained during the event.
Six additional fighters face two-month layoffs, including main card losers Antonio Rogerio Nogueira, Clay Guida and Josh Thomson.
