Much has been made about the estimated 26,000 in attendance for UFC on FOX 14 Saturday night in Stockholm, and how much noise they’re capable of making when hometown hero Alexander Gustafsson enters the Octagon.
In the opening fight of the main card, however, we found out just how quiet 26,000 people can become.
Sam Sicilia made sure of that, as he knocked out a Sweden native, Akia Corassini, in the opening round of their fight.
Sicilia tagged Corassini with a huge right hand to the jaw which put the Renzo Gracie fighter out cold, causing the referee to stop the bout at the 3:26 mark.
By scoring his 12th career finish, Sicilia (14-5) won for the second time in his past three fights. He’s traded wins and losses in each of his past six bouts.
Corassini (12-6) has now dropped three fights in a row.
