The UFC is returning to Chicago. And the good news for visitors is that it won’t be in the winter.
The Windy City will host UFC on FOX 16 on July 25, it announced Wednesday on UFC Tonight. Chicago won Harley Davidson’s Hometown Throwdown, earning it the distinction. The United Center will act as the venue.
The last three times the UFC came to Chicago was in January — in 2012, 2013 and 2014. Last year, it was UFC on FOX 10: Henderson vs. Thomson and the year before was UFC on FOX 6: Johnson vs. Dodson. In 2012, UFC on FOX 2 was headlined by Rashad Evans and Phil Davis.
No bouts have been announced yet for this year’s card. In 2014, the UFC held its annual July FOX show in San Jose, a card headlined by Robbie Lawler and Matt Brown.
