The UFC has announced the date and location for its fourth event on FOX.
UFC on FOX 4 will take place on August 4 in Los Angeles, as confirmed Tuesday night on Fuel TV’s UFC Tonight. That will make it the second UFC on FOX event in Southern California; the first UFC on FOX fight, headlined by Junior dos Santos taking the heavyweight title from Cain Velasquez, took place at the Honda Center in Anaheim.
The August 4 card will come during an interesting time in the sports calendar. FOX will be going head-to-head with NBC’s coverage of the Summer Olympics that night, so there’s no chance of Fox winning the ratings race on that date, but there is an opportunity for FOX to draw a strong rating among the coveted young male demographic.
It’s too early for any word about who will be fighting on the UFC on FOX 4 card, as the UFC usually sets the dates and venues for its events a couple of months before getting the fight card set.
The UFC has had two events on the FOX network so far, with the second fight card taking place on January 28 in Chicago. The third UFC on FOX event will take place on May 5 in East Rutherford, New Jersey, headlined by Jim Miller vs. Nate Diaz.
