The main event, a flyweight title fight between Demetrious Johnson and John Dodson, earned Fight of the Night. Johnson and Dodson engaged in a back-and-forth battle that saw both men rocked at various points. Johnson retained the flyweight crown with a close unanimous decision.
Anthony Pettis lived up to his “Showtime”moniker, taking home Knockout of the Night for his first-round finish of Donald Cerrone. Pettis blitzed Cerrone with an aggressive, varied attack, ultimately landing a liver kick that crumpled “Cowboy”.
Ryan Bader bounced back from an August loss to Lyoto Machida to record the fastest submission in UFC® light heavyweight history. Bader dropped veteran Vladimir Matyushenko early, then locked in a choke that forced a tap just 50 seconds into the first round. With the performance, Bader received Submission of the Night.
All bonused fighters received $50,000 for their efforts.
