If you were looking for the next UFC middleweight contender, Chris Weidman just delivered a stunningly convincing argument. Weidman roared through Mark Munoz at the main event of UFC on FUEL 4, snatching Munoz’s claim to a title shot with a vicious sequence that saw Weidman drop “The Filipino Wrecking Machine” with a standing elbow, then turn his skull into a leaky blood faucet with 17 unanswered shots.
Not bad for someone who’s only been fighting professionally since 2009.
Like usual, a host of Weidman’s co-workers were watching live as the violence ensued, and the resulting Twitter dialogue saw the pros split into two primary schools of thought. Half were disgusted with referee Josh Rosenthal’s blatantly late stoppage, and the other half were absolutely blown away by Weidman’s performance, declaring the New York native the next challenger to Anderson Silva’s middleweight throne.
Breaking News: Carwin WON’T be dropping to 185.#UFC

I fully agree on letting fighters continue, but fighters safety is suppose to be #1 concern and it’s in the refs hands, that was way late!
