As it turns out, Aaron Simpson did not make a test cut to welterweight as he said he would when he decided to vacate the middleweight division.

Relying upon the advice of George Lockhart, who helped three-time UFC title challenger Kenny Florian shrink to 145 pounds, Simpson went from vegetarian to vegan and dropped straight to 170.

Cutting just three pounds to make weight for tonight’s UFC on FUEL TV 4 event, Simpson today said he now has energy to burn.
