UFC Ottawa prelims results and video: Saggo, Cirkunov, Jotko win

Check out the results and video of the UFC Fight Night preliminary card on FS2, which featured three finishes.

The televised prelims from the UFC Fight Night 89 card in Ottawa were full of action. The FS2 four-fight card saw two back-and-forth bouts, a quick KO, and a nice submission. Check out all the results and video of the finishes below.

Jason Saggo defeated Leandro Siva by split decision (28-29, 29-28, 29-28)

The featured prelim was a back-and-forth bout. Saggo caught a kick and worked over Silva on the ground in the first. The second saw Silva get loose with his hands and take that stanza. Saggo looked excellent for most of the third round with his hands, but Silva got a late takedown that put the fight into doubt. In the end, the PEI native took the split.

Misha Cirkunov defeated Ion Cutelaba by submission (arm-triangle choke), 1:22 of round 3

This fight started out like gangbusters, with both men landing huge shots. Cutelaba actually dropped Cirkunov early, but Misha settled down and took over the striking with some hard shots. Cutelaba showed off a great chin, but wasn’t able to connect reliably for the rest of the fight. Early in the third, Cirkunov got a takedown and secured an arm-triangle to get the submission win. Krzysztof Jotko defeated Tamdan McCrory by KO (punches), :59 of round 1

McCrory was standing upright. And then he wasn’t. After landing a couple of hard lefts to open the fight, he absolutely crushed McCrory with one just under a minute into the fight. McCrory went down, and two more hammerfists stiffened him up. That’s a definitely candidate for performance of the night. Here’s the brutal finish:

Joe Soto defeated Chris Beal by submission (rear naked choke), 3:39 of round 3

This was a back-and-forth fight. After a solid first half of the fight by Beal, he got suckered into a brawl and let Soto take over the second half of the second round. He managed to recover and landed some hard shots early in the third, but another mistake saw him on the floor with Soto stuck to his back. Soto was able to sink the choke and get his first UFC win.
