Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) President, Dana White, recently revealed that the promotion would be making a huge amount of cuts to its bloated roster after announcing he had released multiple-time Middleweight title contender, Yoel Romero.
Prior to parting ways with “Soldier of God,” the promotion released top Flyweight contender Jussier Formiga, Justin Ledet, Bevon Lewis, Cole Smith, and Collin Huckbody. And of course, the world’s leading mixed martial arts (MMA) organization released former Middleweight champion, Anderson Silva.
In the latest round of cuts, the promotion has severed ties with Rachael Ostovich on the heels of three straight defeats. Indeed, Ostovich has seen better days inside the Octagon, most recently losing to Gina Mazany via knockout at UFC Vegas 15 (see it again here). Prior to that, she was submitted by Paige VanZant and Montana De La Rosa in back-to-back outings.
While she’s been with the promotion for three years, Ostovich has only competed four times during that time. Her lone win came against Karine Gevorgyan in her UFC debut in 2017. The Hawaiian-born fighter was suspended eight months earlier this year after failing a post-fight drug test.
