Six more fighters have been cut from Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC).
UFC Roster Tracker revealed today (Wed., Oct. 9, 2024) that six more fighters have been released from their respective contracts and/or the promotion decided not to extend them. The fighters who lost their spot on the roster are Victor Altamirano, Da Woon Jung, Kaynan Kruschewsky, Brianna Fortino, Victoria Leonardo, and Danyelle Wolf.
Edit: Three more fighters were released after this story was published: Brian Kelleher, Ricky Glenn, Jarno Errens.
The latest roster cuts come one week before the conclusion of season eight of Contender Series. 39 more new fighters have been added to the roster, which has expanded past 700 athletes this year.
The most surprising name is Flyweight Altamirano (12-5), who went 2-4 in the promotion and scored a Performance of the Night against Daniel Lacerda. While he had a negative record in the promotion, he was always competitive, losing four decisions.
Jung (15-6-1) departs with a 4-4-1 record, Kruschewsky (15-3) leaves after going 0-2 in the promotion, Leonardo (9-6) departs with a 1-4 record, most recently getting slept by Wang Cong.
Wolf (1-1) only fought once inside of the promotion, losing to Norma Dumont. The three-time USA Boxing National Champion fell victim to UFC nixing the Women’s Featherweight division.
Brianna Fortino (9-3), formerly Brianna Van Buren, went 1-1 in UFC and has not fought since her loss to Tecia Pennington in 2020.
