“He said he doesn’t respect me and would like to face me. I remember he said the same thing when I first fought Velasquez — and he said my interim belt was a fake belt — but when I passed through [Velasquez], after the fight I asked him about the fake belt and he just said, ‘Good job.’ I have a lot of respect for [Daniel] Cormier, Velasquez and most AKA guys, but I never liked ‘Cockyhold.’ This guy is so arrogant with everyone, and I really don’t like people who behave that way. If you are really ‘the guy,’ you don’t need to show that or disrespect the opponents.”
Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) heavyweight champion Fabricio Werdum understand he’s at odds with American Kickboxing Academy (AKA), since he’s tasked with facing Cain Velasquez at the upcoming UFC 196 pay-per-view (PPV) event next month in Las Vegas, Nevada (more on that here). But while he respects Velasquez and fellow top dog Daniel Cormier, “Vai Cavalo” told Sherdog.com he’s got no love for newly-minted middleweight kingpin Luke Rockhold, who lacks a champion’s humility. Perhaps “Cockyhold” will change his tune if Werdum is able to defeat Velasquez for a second time. Or not. Doesn’t matter either way, as the Brazilian refuses to fight “wimps.”
