The rankings weren’t really affected much by the first UFC event of 2021.
The UFC kicked of 2021 with a Saturday event on Fight Island, and it just happened to be the first-ever event to air on ABC. While the undercard was underwhelming, the main card more than made up for it, bringing straight fire for all five fights.
The biggest benefactor from this rankings-wise was Li Jingliang, whose finished Santiago Ponzinibbio via KO and entered the welterweight ranking for the first time.
