UFC rankings: McGregor moves up on three different lists

Conor McGregor’s win over Donald Cerrone at UFC 246 moved him up on all sorts of rankings lists.

It only took 40 seconds for Conor McGregor to shake up the UFC rankings. His quick TKO victory over Donald Cerrone came at welterweight, which allowed him to the enter the rankings in that division. This also led to him moving up on the pound-for-pound list, and oddly enough, at lightweight as well.

In terms of other fighters, Diego Ferreira’s big win saw him jump into the lightweight rankings, while Askar Askarov may be the newest contender at flyweight.

Here’s a look at all the changes coming out of UFC 246.

P4P – Conor is up two spots to 11. That drops Valentina Shevchenko and Max Holloway one each to 12 and 13. Dustin Poirier and Tyron Woodley flip-flop the 14 and 15 spots.

Heavyweight – No changes.

Light Heavyweight – No changes.

Middleweight – No changes.

Welterweight – Anthony Pettis fell two spots to 11, and will probably fall off this list if he doesn’t fight at 170 again anytime soon. Robbie Lawler and Geoff Neal moved up one to nine and ten. Gilbert Burns is up one to 12. Vicente Luque drops one to 13. McGregor enters the rankings at 14. Neil Magny drops one to 15.

Lightweight – McGregor is up one to three, bumping Justin Gaethje to four. Ferreira enters the list at 11 after submitting Pettis. Islam Makhachev is up one to 14, dropping Alexander Hernandez one to 15.

Featherweight – Josh Emmett is up one to nine, in a tie with Jose Aldo. Ryan Hall is up one to 13. Sodiq Yusuff enters the rankings at 14. Mirsad Bektic slits one to 15.

Bantamweight – No changes.

Flyweight – Askar Askarov is up six big spots after beating Tim Elliott at UFC 246. Rogerio Bontorin drops one to seven. Elliott dropped three to ten. Jordan Espinosa and Alex Perez drop one each to 14 and 15.

Women’s Bantamweight – Holly Holm took over the number two spot with her lackluster win over Raquel Pennington. Aspen Ladd dropped one to three. Pennington is down one to six, allowing Irene Aldana to enter the top five.

Women’s Flyweight – Roxy Modafferi cracks the top five again with her win over Maycee Barber. She’s up two to five. Viviane Araujo and Lauren Murphy are down one each to six and seven. Ji Yeon Kim and Paige VanZant flipped the 14 and 15 spots.

Women’s Strawweight – Alexa Grasso dropped two spots for missing weight. She down to 13. Felice Herrig and Tecia Torres rise one spot each to 11 and 12.
