Glover Teixeira’s big win at UFC Vegas 13 over the weekend sent him up to the top of the contender’s list at 205.
Two things stand out about this week’s rankings coming out of UFC Vegas 13. One is that Glover Teixeira is the top contender at 205 pounds after dispatching Thiago Santos in the third round of their back-and-forth headliner. The other is how sloppy the rankings look this week. There are fighters listed multiple times, rankings going the wrong way, and fighters that are just straight omitted from the weight class they should be in.
Weird. Anyway, it’s light week for changes, So here you go.
Men’s P4P – No changes.
Heavyweight – There are only 14 heavyweights ranked for some reason. Blagoy Ivanov is up into a tie for 13.
Light Heavyweight – Glover’s up two spots to hit the top of the head. Dominick Reyes drops a spot to two. And somehow he’s also at three. I think that’s a mistake and it’s supposed to be Santos. Anthony Smith is up one to six, dropping Volkan Oezdemir to seven.
Middleweight – No changes.
Welterweight – No changes.
Lightweight – No changes.
Featherweight – No changes.
Bantamweight – No changes.
Flyweight – No changes.
Women’s P4P – Nina Ansaroff continues to climb despite being inactive. She’s up one to 11, pushing Katlyn Chookagian to 12. Yan Xiaonan enters at 13. Julianna Pena somehow drops one to 15…but there’s no 14 on the list. Who is formatting this?
Women’s Bantamweight – No changes.
Women’s Flyweight – No changes.
Women’s Strawweight – Carla Esparza is listed twice at 4. And six other fighter fell, despite no one entering the list yet. I’m guessing Yan Xiaonan is either entering at 3 or jumping up to seven. Im note sure.
